Terry's Reaction To Draw with Man. United

Following Monday evening’s outing at Old Trafford, John Terry paid tribute to the backing the team continues to receive from the Chelsea support.
The captain, who was denied an early goal by David De Gea’s reaction save, also commended both teams’ goalkeepers and was ultimately satisfied with a point from a match which swung in balance.
‘The idea was for us to start the game a little bit better than we did, to maybe unsettle Manchester United and their fans as well,’ reported Terry, ‘but they started well and had a good first half. In the second half we played a lot better and I think overall a point each was probably a fair result.
‘Both goalkeepers were unbelievable. Thibaut made an unbelievable save and De Gea did from Cesar and Pedro and it was very good defensively from both sides in a tight game all round, but it was much better from us.
‘It is good to keep a clean sheet against a very good attacking side,’ he added. ‘We had a lot of help from Thibaut with his unbelievable save from close range but defensively the whole team was spot on from the front all the way through to the back.’
Terry highlighted that it is still a work in progress regarding the restoration of Chelsea’s confidence and form, and he puts yesterday’s draw during a busy period in that context.
‘Man United’s is a massive stadium, big support and a massive club and we walk away with a point and we are happy with that, and we are moving up the table slightly.
‘You can see the spirit and the fight and it is important to mention the supporters as well who have travelled a long way up and stayed behind us the whole way. When it has been difficult at Stamford Bridge and away at times, they have stuck with us and that means a lot. Hopefully we can start giving them something back.’
